Typhoons can strike Guam from July to mid-November and can sometimes cause heavy damage and flooding. However, this is rare because the typhoon roads are usually very far to the west to reach Guam.

Climate from the NEW CALEDONIA

From December to March: it is the hot season, known as cyclone season. The intertropical zone of convergence is then located in the southern hemisphere, its mean position oscillating around the 15th parallel. During this season, the formation of about ten (on average) tropical disturbances occurs in the area between the southern equator and eastern Australia. These perturbations, at first more or less stationary, then have an erratic trajectory. They cause torrential rains and winds that increase with the importance of the phenomenon. April and May: it is a transitional season. The area of inter-tropical convergence rises towards the north. Tropical disturbances are rare and generally not very active. Rainfall decreases and temperatures decrease significantly. from June to August: it's the cool season. The intertropical convergence zone is located in the northern hemisphere. The cold fronts of perturbations of polar origin cross the Tasman Sea and sometimes reach the territory. Their passage is accompanied by precipitation often abundant, especially on the south of the Grande Terre and a burst of west wind blowing sometimes in storm. This peculiarity gave them the name of « coups d'ouest ». The temperature of the air passes through its annual minimum between mid-July and mid-August. September to November: it is a transitional season. The zone of inter-tropical convergence descends to the south, crossing the equator. The subtropical anticyclonic belt, which then reaches its maximum importance, protects our regions from disturbances of polar origin. The trade wind blows almost permanently, it is the most beautiful period of the year, but it is also the dry season, favorable to the bushfires.

Climate from the REUNION ISLAND

Located in the south-western part of the Indian Ocean, Reunion Island remains for most of the year under the influence of trade winds led by the semi-permanent high pressure of the Indian Ocean. The intensity and characteristics of these dominant southeastern trade winds vary according to the season. During the southern winter (May to November), this anticyclone is most often centered in the southern neighborhood of the Mascarenes and its action can extend to the equator. The generally stable trade wind flow results in relatively cool and dry weather in many places, despite some rainfall associated with frontal system passages. During the southern summer (December to April) the high pressure is moving towards the south, and the Mascarenes are interested only by its northern border. The zone of low intertropical pressures, along the thermal equator, moves southwards and directly influences these regions. The trade winds are weakening, a northeastern current predominates most often and a hot, humid and rainy weather is established during this season. Tropical cyclones occur during the southern summer. Without taking into account the highly diversified microclimatic zones generated by the tormented relief of the island, several regions with contrasting rainfall can be observed on either side of the two powerful mountain ranges. North of the first north-west / south-easterly chain, culminating at 3069 m at Piton des Neiges, the high rainfall on the highlands gradually decreases towards the coastline as well as from east to west. In the south, drought rages from May to November on the coast and a large part of the heights. The second chain, the Piton de la Fournaise (volcano still in operation) is 2631 m on the edge of the Bory crater and stands out from the island, the two deep gorges that are the beds of the eastern rivers and Remparts seem to isolate it. The rains are abundant and frequent, especially north of the volcano. the two deep gorges which are the beds of the rivers of the east and the Remparts seem to isolate it. Climate from the TURKS AND CAICOS

The average temperature on the Turks and Caicos is between 86°F and 89°F from June to October, with possible peaks at 95°F towards the end of summer. Then from November to May, the average temperature oscillates between 81°F and 88°F. The temperature of the bathing water in summer is 82°F / 86°F and in winter falls between 81°F and 77°F. A trade wind maintains a very pleasant climate. The Turks and Caicos Islands have 350 days of sunshine per year. Not bad ! Watch out for mosquito outbreaks usually in the fall with strong rains and humidity.

Hurricanes and cyclones: The hurricane season officially lasts from June 1 to November 30 but there is no reason to panic because the weather forecast gives a warning to take precautions. Apart from Hurricane Ike, which beat Grand Turk and Caicos in 2008, followed immediately by Hurricane Hanna, the Turks and Caicos Islands have been largely spared since 1960. Hurricane Ike, however, Grand Turk, some 80% of the structures on the island have been damaged.

High season and low season:Like a large part of the Caribbean, the Turks and Caicos Islands have become a possible destination throughout the year. The season runs from mid-November to mid-April, which is generally the driest period of the year in the Caribbean. So the prices of hotels are higher during this period and you will have to make your reservations well in advance. The holidays of February or Easter win the palm for the family holidays.

The off-season in the Turks and Caicos Islands, from mid-April to mid-November is perfectly nice. Temperatures are somewhat higher, but southeast winds reduce the sensation of heat, as well as more frequent brief showers. Hotel prices are also reduced by 20% to 50% compared to winter rates. Airline tickets are generally cheaper and the Plane / Hotel packages seem reasonable even for stays in five star deluxe accommodations.

Note: Some hotels use the off-season for renovation or construction, which can be embarrassing if you are looking for peace and quiet.

Nha Trang is very popular with tourists because it enjoys a really pleasant climate and a 4 miles long beach. The bay of Nha Trang, is one of the most beautiful bays in the world.

The months of March and April are the best time for bathing and beach in Nha Trang. Also the climate is pleasant ten months of the year anyway. Unlike the southern part of the country, Ho Chi Min City and the Mekong Delta, the Nha Trang area is not affected by the monsoon during the summer and thus allows a good weather without suffocating.

Avoid Nha Trang from mid-October to January. It is the season of heavy rains, usually late in the day or early morning in the form of thunderstorms with strong winds. The sea is also often stormy, all activities are disturbed, the river overflows causing flooding. No need to plan your trip to the beach, it would be a nightmare.
