Israel : climate and when to go to Eilat

This small country in the Middle East has 3 seas and a lake with as many tourist coasts: the Mediterranean to the west, the Red Sea (Gulf of Aqaba) to the South, the Dead Sea and Lake Tiberias inland. Between seas and deserts, the climate is quite contrasted: it is of the Mediterranean type to the west and desert in the rest of the country. The heat is harassing during the summer season: the summer spreads from April to October, hot and humid on the Mediterranean coast from 86°F to 104°F, heatwaves to the east and south up to 50°F. Be careful to hydrate well and prefer the shade to the zenith of the sun in July-August.

In the summer, the water temperature varies from sea to sea: the Mediterranean Sea between 75°F and 81°F, the Red Sea between 77°F and 84°F, the Dead Sea between 86°F and 104°F. Temperatures fall between day and night, especially in the desert. Winters can be cold and rainy in mountainous areas. The ideal destination for the beaches of Israel is Haifa - Eilat on the Red Sea.

When to go? The hottest month for the beach, lazing around and swimming is July. Check the precipitations because showers are possible but the sun returns quickly, otherwise other periods are possible. The coolest month is January, if you can not stand the heat too much. The driest month of the year is April, if you do not like the rain at all.
