Reunion Island : climate and when to go to Saint gilles
Located in the south-western part of the Indian Ocean, Reunion Island remains for most of the year under the influence of trade winds led by the semi-permanent high pressure of the Indian Ocean. The intensity and characteristics of these dominant southeastern trade winds vary according to the season. During the southern winter (May to November), this anticyclone is most often centered in the southern neighborhood of the Mascarenes and its action can extend to the equator. The generally stable trade wind flow results in relatively cool and dry weather in many places, despite some rainfall associated with frontal system passages. During the southern summer (December to April) the high pressure is moving towards the south, and the Mascarenes are interested only by its northern border. The zone of low intertropical pressures, along the thermal equator, moves southwards and directly influences these regions. The trade winds are weakening, a northeastern current predominates most often and a hot, humid and rainy weather is established during this season. Tropical cyclones occur during the southern summer. Without taking into account the highly diversified microclimatic zones generated by the tormented relief of the island, several regions with contrasting rainfall can be observed on either side of the two powerful mountain ranges. North of the first north-west / south-easterly chain, culminating at 3069 m at Piton des Neiges, the high rainfall on the highlands gradually decreases towards the coastline as well as from east to west. In the south, drought rages from May to November on the coast and a large part of the heights. The second chain, the Piton de la Fournaise (volcano still in operation) is 2631 m on the edge of the Bory crater and stands out from the island, the two deep gorges that are the beds of the eastern rivers and Remparts seem to isolate it. The rains are abundant and frequent, especially north of the volcano. the two deep gorges which are the beds of the rivers of the east and the Remparts seem to isolate it. Weather uncertainties 2025 to go to Saint Gilles ?

When traveling in the tropics as a seaside, rain is not welcome. If you see this indicator, with possible storms, that does not mean that it will rain all day long. When we observe the local rainfall, it is either really zero or very weak. Meteorologists prefer to be pessimistic. So observe below, the skies photographed during a week announced stormy in Asia. It did not rain once. I invite you to integrate this parameter before going to Saint Gilles for a good trip to the sun!
